About How to Live in Spain
Spain, Without the Guesswork.
How to Live in Spain turns the paperwork, moves and everyday life of Spain into clear, free checklists, written in plain English by someone who has been through it.

Our story
Built From Life in Spain. Spanish admin isn’t hard because people aren’t clever enough. It’s hard because the rules are spread across dozens of websites, change often and assume you already know the system. We put each process in one place, in the right order.
Whether you’re planning a move, renewing your residency or just visiting for a summer, there’s a checklist that tells you exactly what to do next.

What drives us
Mission & Vision
{ our mission }
Our Mission
To make life in Spain simpler for everyone who moves, lives or travels here, one clear checklist at a time.
{ our vision }
Our Vision
A Spain where nobody pays a broker for a free appointment or misses a deadline because the rules were hard to find.
Our core values
Five ideas guide everything we make. They shape how we write checklists, choose services to recommend and decide what to build next.

Meet the founder
Hi, I’m Christian.
I moved to Spain with my parents when I was 15, and I’ve lived here ever since. A few years later my parents moved back; I stayed.
Since then I’ve been through most of what this site covers: getting my first job, studying, learning my way around Spanish bureaucracy, becoming self-employed, and managing business licences for retail and digital work, plus all the admin in between.
I created How to Live in Spain to help others through a system that can be tricky to navigate. I hope it’s useful to you. If you have suggestions or feedback, email me at hello@howtoliveinspain.com and I’ll make sure to take them into account.

Where it started
Made in Barcelona. Every checklist is written from a city of old lanes, beach mornings and long lunches, with a fair bit of paperwork in between.
