What this website is

How to Live in Spain publishes free checklists and guides about moving to, living in and visiting Spain. It is an independent website. We are not a government body, a law firm or a gestoría, and we can’t handle procedures for you.

Everything on the site is general information, not legal, tax, immigration or financial advice. Your situation may be different, so confirm each step with the official source we link to, or with a qualified professional, before you act.

Accuracy

We research every checklist from official sources and show the date it was last checked. Spanish rules, fees and forms change often, sometimes without notice. If you spot something out of date, email us and we’ll correct it.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by relying on information that has changed or that doesn’t fit your circumstances. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Your account

• Accounts are free and for people aged 14 or over.

• Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens in your account.

• Only upload documents that belong to you or that you have permission to store.

• Don’t use the site to break the law, upload harmful files or copy content automatically.

• You can delete your account, with all your progress and documents, at any time from your account page.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. We’ll tell you why, unless the law prevents it.

Links to other websites

We link to official government websites and to companies we recommend. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, prices or privacy practices. Some links to companies are affiliate links; see our affiliate disclosure.

Content and copyright

The text, checklists, design and downloads on this site belong to How to Live in Spain unless stated otherwise. You may print or download checklists for your own personal use and share links to any page. You may not copy, republish or sell our content without written permission. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If a change affects your account in a significant way, we’ll email you first.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. Before going to court, please email us: most problems can be solved quickly.
